Make the Skills Pledge with Business Link and get £1000 towards your training

Four-stage process of the Skills Pledge

The Skills Pledge process contains four steps:

- Making the Skills Pledge
- Diagnostics
- Action plan
- Implementation and achievement

Making the Skills Pledge - when your business makes the Skills Pledge commitment, you will receive a Skills Pledge certificate from your local Business Link

Diagnostic - you will then need to carry out an assessment of skills and training priorities for all of your employees and consider how skills will help to achieve your business' objectives. This assessment will usually be supported by an organisational needs analysis and/or a 'training needs' diagnostic. You can obtain help with using the diagnostic services of GW Resources or Business Link

Action plan - you will then need to develop an action plan to meet your Skills Pledge commitment. Your Action plan should set out:

- which skills and qualifications are priorities
- which staff you want to be involved - and how many
- overall timescales
- schedules of training
- targets and milestones of the training process
- how you will monitor and review progress

A Business Link Adviser can help you identify whether you are eligible for partial or full funding or subsidies, which qualifications will add the most value and which training providers can best meet your needs.

Implementation and achievement - once you have set out your action plan, you will need to implement it and start working towards achieving your goals. You can also add to your action plan as the development process goes on in order to achieve continuous improvement and business success through maximising the potential of your employees.
