Text Box:   Many of you may already know that there is a national £30m Learning and Skills Council (LSC) funded programme to achieve effective investment and deployment of skills within the workforce and to address national and regional market failures. • This funded programme is anticipated to support circa 60,000 businesses over the three years nationally and circa 9,200 businesses regionally over the three years.  • Following discussions with Business Link North West (who have been awarded the contract to deliver the NW programme) GW Resources would like to discuss leadership/ management training with you to see if you are eligible for a grant. Question – Is my organisation eligible to access this grant and if so what is on offer? The Offer • A training grant of £1,000 is offered to each individual leader/manager, £500 of which requires no match funding, the remaining £500 grant can be accessed on a 50/50 basis. A maximum of £7,000 can be offered to a business.  Accredited HE provision should be match funded in full. • The grant supports businesses with 5 – 999 employees (targeting businesses with less than 249 up to end of March 09) and includes an individual diagnostic,  production of a Personal Development Plan and a grant is available to up to seven managers within a business • Exclusions are membership fees, travel, subsistence, statutory or mandatory training, accreditation, and equipment. • Available from Oct 08.  Priority will be given to SMEs, RES priority sectors, women and BME groups What do I need to do to find out if my company is eligible? Contact GW Resources Ltd on 01253 768 403 to arrange a visit from our trainer who after discussing your training needs will contact an accredited Leadership & Management (L&M) Broker from Business Link who will arrange to visit your company to discuss eligibility An L &M broker will then arrange to visit you to discuss your organisation’s eligibility for LSC funding. If you are - the broker supports an individual diagnostic to be undertaken and provides a Personal Development Plan (PDP) co-created with the leader/manager and then refers them to development solutions and access to the L&M grant.
